Public Health Interoperability is the ability of public health systems to exchange data with healthcare systems and support the use of the data for public health action. This two-part webinar will provide an overview of current initiatives to advance public health interoperability.

This two-part webinar series will explore national and local efforts advancing interoperability across the public health ecosystem. Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of federal frameworks, emerging models, and the practical role of intermediaries such as Health Information Exchanges (HIEs) and Health Data Utilities (HDUs).

Webinar 1 was on Dec. 16 and provided a foundational overview of public health intermediaries and updates on the Trusted Exchange Framework and Common Agreement (TEFCA).

Webinar 2 was on Jan 22, where J. Marc Overhage, M.D., Ph.D., CSRI CEO, and other health leaders discussed how intermediaries, including HIEs and HDUs, support real-world data exchange to inform public health action.
